Celebrate The Past, Inc.
After many years of office administration, newspaper advertising and a stint as Assistant to the Curator of the Norwalk Museum, Linda began her events career in 2001 when she was appointed Chairman of the 350th Anniversary Parade Committee. She then went on to work with the Norwalk Harbor Splash! Festival Committee as Entertainment Chair until 2007. In 2002 Linda and co-Director Peter Bondi created Celebrate the Past, Inc., primarily to promote interest in Norwalk’s role in the Revolutionary War, but also to coordinate and produce events based upon the history of Norwalk, of Fairfield County, and of Connecticut in general. A small reenactment to test the waters was produced in 2003, followed by the very successful Norwalk Patriot Days, the Commemoration of the Battle and Burning of Norwalk, which was held on July 10-12, 2004. These Revolutionary War anniversary reenactments are held in 5-year increments, with plans for the 2014 reenactment already underway even as this year’s event is being staged, along with plans for the Southern Connecticut Pirate Festival to be held in early spring 2011.
